DTN Closing Livestock Comment 05/12 15:57
Weaker Tones Stick with the Livestock Contracts on Tuesday
The livestock contracts ended the day lower as the cattle contracts have
been rocked backwards thanks to headline trading, and the hog complex can't
find enough fundamental support.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The livestock complex again ended the day lower -- exhausted from far too
many headlines surrounding beef imports and tariffs. Bids were offered
throughout the day in the cash market, but no new sales were noted. June lean
hogs are down $1.80 at $98.425, July corn is up 4 3/4 cents per bushel and July
soybean meal is up $3.60. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 56.09 points
and the NASDAQ is down 185.93 points.
