DTN COMMENTS: A few more bids are now on the table. In Nebraska dressed
bids are marked at $408, well below current asking prices of $415 in that
area. In Texas some bids of $255 are now being reported. Packer inquiry
will have to keep improving as the day progresses. If the trend of the
last few weeks is any indication, significant business will likely hold
off until late this afternoon.
Beef cutouts are lower at midday (choice 392.10 -4.22, select 372.41 -
2.33) with light to moderate box movement (58.70 lds of choice cuts, 5.08
lds of select cuts, 4.34 lds of trim, and 5.42 lds of ground). Live
cattle contracts at midday are mixed, mostly moderately to sharply lower,
while feeder issues are all sharply lower.
NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to email DTN with any cattle sales, at
linda.nellson@dtn.com. All sales will be listed anonymously and organized
by state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A weekly
summary from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales Reported
to DTN page and will be left up for the entire week for reference
purposes.
